Download the agent

The agent is the small program that runs on a computer next to your radio. It talks to the radio and connects your station to RemoteMyShack. Install it, then follow Getting started.

Version 1.0.96 · 2026-11-01. The agent keeps itself up to date once it's installed.

Installing

Mac

  1. Open the downloaded zip, then drag RemoteMyShack into your Applications folder.
  2. The first time, right-click (or Control-click) it, choose Open, then Open again. macOS asks this once because the app isn't signed by Apple yet.
  3. When macOS asks whether RemoteMyShack may find and connect to devices on your local network, click Allow: that's how it reaches your radio. (If you missed it: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.)
  4. The RemoteMyShack icon appears in the menu bar, and the setup page opens in your browser.

Windows

  1. Unzip the download and move RemoteMyShack.exe somewhere permanent, such as a folder in Documents.
  2. Double-click it. If Windows SmartScreen warns about an unrecognized app, click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. The RemoteMyShack icon appears in the notification area, and the setup page opens in your browser.

Linux and Raspberry Pi

The easiest way: run this on the Pi or Linux computer. It installs the agent as a service that starts at boot.

curl -fsSL https://remotemyshack.com/install.sh | sudo sh

Then open http://<its address>:8073/ from a computer on your network; the installer prints the address. Run the same command again to upgrade. Or install it by hand:

  1. Pick the download for your computer: 64-bit for a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 running 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS, 32-bit for older Pis or the 32-bit OS (uname -m shows aarch64 for 64-bit, armv7l for 32-bit).
  2. Unpack it: tar xzf remotemyshack-agent-*.tar.gz
  3. Run ./remotemyshack-agent, then open http://127.0.0.1:8073/ on that computer. On a Pi without a screen, run ./remotemyshack-agent -listen 0.0.0.0:8073 and open http://<the Pi's address>:8073/ from another computer on your network.

See Installing the agent for keeping it running and other details.

What's new

1.0.96 · November 1, 2026

  • Ready for the RemoteMyShack app for Apple TV: a TV paired with your account can listen to your radios and tune them, but never transmit.
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.

1.0.95 · October 31, 2026

  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.

1.0.94 · October 31, 2026

  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.

1.0.93 · October 31, 2026

  • The console's log map is always there: the world centered on you, with the night side shaded and recent DX spots you can click to tune. Type a callsign to add their station and the path to it.
  • Weather and the Reverse Beacon Network on the map: rain worldwide and US radar, and the RBN skimmers hearing you (or the station you're about to log), with how strongly.
  • SSTV: receive slow-scan TV pictures as they arrive, and send your own picture or a test card with your call on it, in Scottie, Martin, PD and Robot modes.
  • On an IC-7300MK2 connected over the network, the console tells you when its DATA MOD setting would send data modes without their audio, and sets it to LAN for you.
  • Callsigns you type in the log are always in capitals.
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.

1.0.92 · October 30, 2026

  • A map in the console's log: type a callsign and see where they are, with the path, distance and beam heading from your station. Point at them for their QRZ photo.
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.
Earlier versions

1.0.91 · October 30, 2026

  • QRZ.com lookups: connect your QRZ account in Logbook › QRZ & LoTW, and typing a callsign in the log shows who it is, how far away, whether they use LoTW, and your earlier contacts with them.
  • LoTW: bring your LoTW contacts and confirmations into your logbook by themselves, and upload new contacts to LoTW, signed by TQSL on your shack computer.
  • Log map: see your contacts on a world map or one centered on your station, with great-circle paths, the grayline and grid squares.
  • FT8 colors: decoded stations are marked when they'd be a new DXCC entity, new on the band, or not confirmed yet; ones you've worked are dimmed. Drag the bar under the message lists to see more.
  • Modes tune the band: choosing AM, SSB, CW, RTTY or FM takes you to that part of the band, as FT8 does.
  • Referrals on your page: your public station page shows your referral code and sign-up link, ready to copy, with a button to sign up with them.
  • Relay boards: add a Waveshare Modbus POE ETH Relay board, move it to DHCP from the setup page, and switch antennas and station gear from the console. Give an antenna relay its bands and it follows the radio onto them.
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.

1.0.89 · October 29, 2026

  • Referrals: share your link from Account › Referrals. Hams who join with it get a 30-day free trial, and you get a month free when they subscribe, up to 12 a year.

1.0.88 · October 29, 2026

  • Listen Live: on the Shack and Super Station plans, visitors to your station page can hear the radios you choose, with no account and no control. The console shows how many are listening and can end them.
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.

1.0.87 · October 29, 2026

  • A dot on the menu bar (Mac) or notification-area (Windows) icon when an update is waiting.

1.0.86 · October 29, 2026

  • Receive audio away from the shack is compressed (Opus): about 15 MB an hour instead of 120, so it plays well on cell data.

1.0.85 · October 29, 2026

  • D-STAR: a DV mode button for the IC-705, IC-9700, IC-905 and IC-7100.

1.0.84 · October 29, 2026

  • Open consoles pick up new versions by themselves (never while you're transmitting or typing).
  • Much less traffic on your network: radios that stop answering are retried less and less often, and idle radios are polled more gently.
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.

1.0.83 · October 29, 2026

  • The scope shows the frequency under your mouse, and its trace is green.
  • A Strap! badge in AM on the signal you're tuned to, when it's over S9+40.
