Linking your station to your account
Linking connects the agent on your shack computer to your account, so your console at https://<yourcall>.remotemyshack.com can reach your radios from anywhere. You do it once per computer.
Link the agent
Once you've added your first radio, the agent starts the link by itself and opens the Link a station page in your browser. If you signed up on this computer you're already signed in, so check the computer name and your callsign and click Link station. That's all.
The agent opens that page by itself only once. If you closed it, or the code expired, choose Link to remotemyshack.com… at the top of the agent's menu (in the menu bar on a Mac, the notification area on Windows). It opens the page again with a fresh code. While a code is waiting, the menu says Approve the link in your browser…, and choosing it reopens the same page.
You can also link from the setup page:
- On the shack computer, open the agent's setup page (see Installing the agent).
- On the Remote access tab, click Link to remotemyshack.com.
- The page shows a link code, a QR code and the line Waiting for approval…. The code expires in 10 minutes.
- Scan the QR code with your phone, or click Or open it on this computer. Either opens the Link a station page at remotemyshack.com.
- Sign in with your passkey if you aren't already.
- Check the computer name and your callsign, then click Link station.
Within a few seconds the setup page changes to ✓ Online at your station address, with your console's address and a QR code for it. Open that address on your phone and add it to your home screen for one-tap access.
The setup page also shows how many remote consoles are connected at the moment.
If the code runs out before you approve it, the setup page says Link code expired. Start again. Click Link to remotemyshack.com again for a new code.
Who can operate a linked station
Anyone who can sign in to your account can operate the radios connected to the linked computer. The approval page reminds you of this. Keep your passkeys to yourself, and remove any you no longer use (see Passkeys and signing in).
Operating also depends on your plan: during your trial and on a paid plan you can operate; if your trial has ended, the console asks you to choose a plan. See Plans and billing.
Your Account page
On the Station tab of your Account page, Your station shows whether the station is Online or Offline · last seen some time ago, each radio with its frequency and mode, and the name of the linked computer. Open console takes you to your station address.
Moving to another computer
An account has one linked station. To move it, install the agent on the new computer, add your radios there, and link it. Because your account already has a station, the Link a station page names the computer that's linked now and offers Keep it or Replace my station. Choose Replace my station: the old computer is disconnected and its radios leave your account until you link it again.
The page always says which account you're signed in as. If you're setting up a station for a different callsign (a second account, or a friend's), choose Sign out there and sign in to that account first, or you'd move your own station.
Unlinking
To disconnect a computer from your account, click Unlink this computer on the Remote access tab of its setup page. The agent stops connecting to remotemyshack.com, and your console shows the station as offline. Your radios stay set up on that computer, and you can link it again at any time.
