The transmit log

RemoteMyShack records every transmission your station makes: when it started and ended, the frequency and mode, who was transmitting and why it stopped. It's a handy record of your remote operating, and it helps if you ever need to show what your station did.

Where to find it

The log is on the Station tab of your Account page at remotemyshack.com, under Transmit log, once your station is linked.

The table shows your most recent transmissions, newest first. It shows 10 at first; click Show … more to see the rest of the latest 100. The columns are:

Column What it shows
When When you keyed up, in your browser's time zone
Radio Which radio, shown once your station has more than one
Frequency The frequency when you keyed up
Mode The mode when you keyed up; FT8 for FT8 messages
Length How long the transmission lasted
Operator Your callsign, or local console for a console opened on the shack computer or through Tailscale
Ended Why it stopped

Common reasons in Ended:

  • released: you let go of the button, or an FT8 or RTTY message finished.
  • TX time limit (180s): the time limit unkeyed it.
  • lost contact with console: your connection dropped while transmitting.
  • console disconnected: the console closed while transmitting.
  • radio powered off: the radio was turned off from the console.

Downloading it

Click Download CSV to download the whole log as a spreadsheet file. Times in the CSV are in UTC, oldest first, like a paper log. Besides the columns above, it includes the length in seconds, the frequency in Hz, your callsign as control operator and the linked computer's name.

The station's own copy

The agent also writes every transmission to tx-log.csv in its settings folder on the shack computer (see Installing the agent for where that is). This copy includes transmissions made from a console on the shack computer itself.

If the shack computer loses its internet connection, transmissions are still logged there, and they're sent to your account when the station reconnects.
