Guests

You can let friends operate your station from their own phones and computers. Each guest signs in with their own RemoteMyShack account. You choose which of your radios they can use, and for each one whether they can transmit or only listen and tune.

Guests are part of the Super Station plan, which includes one guest. More are $25 a year each.

Inviting a guest

  1. On your Account page, open Guests.
  2. Type your guest's email address.
  3. For each radio, choose No access, Listen only or Transmit. Your station needs to be online for its radios to be listed. You can invite someone while it's offline and choose their radios later.
  4. Choose Send invitation.

Your guest gets an email with a link. They sign in, or make an account if they don't have one, and choose Accept. You get an email when they do. One account can accept each invitation.

What guests can do

Once they've accepted, your station appears on their Account page under Stations shared with you, with an Open console button. Their console shows only the radios you chose.

  • Transmit: the console as you have it, except your account settings. They can transmit, use your amplifiers, antenna switches and rotors (as far as your plan covers them), and change the radio's settings. Their transmissions are in your transmit log under their callsign.
  • Listen only: they hear the radio and can tune it, change mode and filters, and decode FT8, FT4 and WSPR. The console shows Guest · listen only instead of the talk button. The station's agent enforces this too, so nothing that transmits or switches station gear gets through. Listen-only guests need agent 1.0.97 or later at your station.

What your plan covers applies to guests too: radios past your plan's limit aren't available to them, and when your plan can't be used (the trial ended or a payment failed), your guests can't operate either.

Guests don't see your account, billing, station setup or public page settings, and they can't invite anyone.

Only one console can transmit on a radio at a time, yours or a guest's: while one is transmitting, the others' talk buttons say In use by another console. See Listening and transmitting.

You're the licensee. Who may operate under your callsign, and how, is up to you.

Changing access or removing a guest

On Guests, change the choice beside a radio at any time; it applies the next time they connect. Remove takes away their access.

A guest can leave your station themselves with Leave, under Stations shared with you.

More guests

Super Station includes one guest. To invite more, set Extra guests under More guests and choose Add. Each extra guest is $25 a year. This is a yearly subscription of its own, next to your plan, paid by card. Later changes are prorated: adding one partway through the year costs only the rest of the year. Set it to 0 to stop paying for extra guests.

If you change to a plan without guests, your guests can't operate until you're back on Super Station. Set Extra guests to 0 first if you won't be back, so they stop being billed.

If you have more guests than your plan and extra guests cover, the ones you invited first keep their access. The newest ones can't operate until you add a guest or remove someone. Their entries are greyed out on Guests.
